Goosebumps Haunted Halloween is a 2018 Heyday Films, Warner Bros. is scheduled to be released on November 16, 2018.
After the success of the film starring Jack Black in 2018 Nightmares (Goosebumps), studios set out to prepare a sequel to take advantage of the pull that had this movie that mixes adventure and terror equally.
Although the project is carried out quite discreetly (and late), a few months ago we learned that the film would be titled Nightmares: Horrorland, a clear tribute to one of the series published by R.L. Stine inside the collection of novels Nightmares. However, as published by Omega Underground, Sony Pictures would have finally changed the title of the film to that of Goosebumps: Slappy's Revenge (Slappy's Revenge).
The Goosebumps film will have a sequel that is already being worked on by screenwriter Rob Lieber, but a report says that the protagonist Jack Black could be left out.
Variety reports that Lieber works on a story where R. L. Stine, Black's character, does not appear and so far does not have an offer to return. The main reason for this decision is to save between 6 and 8 million dollars that Black's salary costs.
They look for the second part to be cheaper than the first, which cost around 58 million dollars to produce and in the end it collected 150.2 million dollars at the world box office.
The portal adds that there are other versions of the script where Jack Black is seen back, but it is something that is in doubt because they need to polish many details. Leaving Black outside could cost them at the box office, as it is a very popular actor in the world of comedy.
